Grilled Shrimp Tacos with Mango Salsa Recipe

Grilled Shrimp Tacos with Mango Salsa Recipe

These Grilled Shrimp Tacos with Mango Salsa are basically sunshine in a tortilla. They’re light, zesty, just a little spicy, and bursting with tropical flavor. Grilled shrimp brings that smoky heat, while the juicy mango salsa cools it all down with sweetness and a tangy kick. It’s the perfect dish for a casual dinner, a summer BBQ, or Taco Tuesday with a twist.

Why Grilled Shrimp + Mango Salsa?

Grilling shrimp adds delicious charred edges and smoky depth in minutes. Mango salsa, on the other hand, brings brightness, color, and balance—especially when combined with red onion, cilantro, and lime. Together, it’s the kind of fresh, feel-good combo that keeps you coming back for “just one more” taco.

Grilling shrimp can be tricky if you’re not using the right tools. That’s why I always go for the Braize Kabob Grilling Basket when I want shrimp to stay secure and evenly cooked. It locks them in so you’re not chasing shrimp around the grill. If you’re grilling a larger batch or want to skip skewers, the Braize Adjustable Grill Basket is another great option that makes flipping easy and cleanup even easier.

Grilled Shrimp Tacos with Mango Salsa Recipe

Ingredients

For the Shrimp Marinade:

  • 1 lb shrimp (peeled & deveined)

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

  • 1 tablespoon lime juice

  • 1 garlic clove, minced

  • ½ teaspoon chili powder

  • ½ teaspoon cumin

  • ½ teaspoon smoked paprika

  • Salt & pepper, to taste

For the Mango Salsa:

  • 1 ripe mango, diced

  • ¼ cup red onion, finely chopped

  • ½ jalapeño, minced (optional)

  • Juice of 1 lime

  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro

  • Salt, to taste

For Serving:

  • 6–8 small corn or flour tortillas

  • Extra lime wedges

  • Cilantro, for garnish

  • Optional: avocado, crumbled queso fresco, or hot sauce

Instructions

1. Marinate the Shrimp

In a bowl, combine olive oil, lime juice, garlic, chili powder, cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper. Add the shrimp and toss until coated. Let marinate for at least 15–30 minutes.

2. Make the Mango Salsa

Mix mango, red onion, jalapeño, lime juice, cilantro, and a pinch of salt in a bowl. Stir and let it sit while the shrimp grill—this helps the flavors come together.

3. Preheat the Grill

Heat the grill to medium-high heat (around 375–400°F). Lightly oil your Braize Kabob Grilling Basket or Adjustable Grill Basket, and preheat it on the grill.

4. Grill the Shrimp

Add shrimp to the basket in a single layer. Grill for 2–3 minutes per side, until pink, opaque, and slightly charred. Remove from heat and set aside.

5. Warm the Tortillas

Throw tortillas directly onto the grill for 15–30 seconds per side, just until they get soft and a little toasty.

6. Build the Tacos

Add shrimp to each tortilla, spoon on a generous amount of mango salsa, and top with avocado, cheese, extra cilantro, or whatever toppings you love. Serve with lime wedges and enjoy!

These tacos are my go-to when I want something quick but really special. The Braize Grill Baskets make the shrimp easy to manage—even with a cocktail in one hand (no judgment). And the mango salsa? It's like a tropical vacation in every bite.
